Villa 3 comprises three buildings – an open-sided living and dining pavilion, an elevated relaxation pavilion and a third building that houses two bedrooms, each with an en-suite garden bathroom. The villa is entered via a set of double antique doors leading from a small courtyard. Here, two Balinese statues rest in a serene lotus pond, with three trickling water spouts. The garden of the villa is walled on three sides and dominated by a raised, open-sided living and dining pavilion. This raised pavilion features a soaring ‘alang alang’ thatched roof supported by coconut wood pillars above a cream terrazzo floor. Ceiling fans and gentle breezes keep this area cool, while the contemporary teak furniture, dining tables and cushioned sofas make it very comfortable. The pavilion also integrates an open-plan kitchenette, for the use of the guests on those occasions when they might not require waiter/waitress service from the main Tamu Seseh service-kitchen. The kitchenette is located behind a terrazzo bar, lined with high cushioned stools and complete with a gas hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Inside the fitted cupboards, guests will also find a stereo CD/cassette player. In the garden, four sun loungers and two umbrellas are situated on a raised plinth beside a 12 x 4 meter infinity edge swimming pool, which appears to almost overflow into rice fields that are unbroken by borders or fences. A barbeque is provided for the guests, and terracotta statues add to the character of the magnificent setting. A flight of steps leads up to the top storey of the elevated ‘balé’ relaxation pavilion; the structure is open on two sides next to a towering holy fig tree. Complete with a Palimanan stone floor and encompassed by a wooden balustrade with a built in cushioned sofa, this enchanting relaxation pavilion literally overhangs the rice fields. Guests will be treated to a magnificent view of rural Bali, through the coconut groves to the crashing white surf of the Indian Ocean. The upper storey of the balé is furnished with a table and a satellite TV/DVD cabinet. A telephone is provided so that guests can order food and drinks without having to move. There is additional poolside seating on the lower deck of the balé, where there is also a toilet and an outdoor shower.
